In the afternoon we landed in Stonington Island. This is our first landing. It's really hot. Over 5 degrees (Celsius). The clothes are almost too much. But even wearing 2 socks, the feet are eventually getting cold. At the bottom are the rubber-based boots given by Quark Expeditions, ... and the top a coat is also provided by the company. We'll take the coat with us when we finish the voyage, but the boots will stay. There are two abandoned research stations on this island. One is British and the other is American. We had a look inside. Adelia penguins are around and not afraid of people. Beside the ones lying on the ice, a seal in front of the British research station was lazy sunbathing and napping. It was funny with a big, fat sauce-like look. He didn't seem to be bothered by people at all. The island is actually a small, stony island. Very close to the mainland. After spending a lot of time here, we returned to the ship with zodiac. In the meantime, another group had also kayaking. More information Also don't miss!!!
