Bora Bora is simply the most strikingly beautiful island in the world (for many people and for me). It is located in French Polynesia, an overseas territory of France in the central South Pacific Ocean. Ilya Patch from Sydney says “The reason why Bora Bora is called most beautiful island in the world is Mount Otemanu (highest peak in ... Bora Bora). Without Mount Otemanu, Bora Bora would be just another pretty island. Mount Otemanu makes Bora Bora magical and the view of it is breathtaking” https://www.tripadvisor.com.tr/ShowUserReviews-g311415-d309877-r168828057-Mount_Otemanu-Bora_Bora_Society_Islands.html Mt Otemanu and other peaks (twin-peaked Mt Pahia and Mt Mataihua) draped with lush tropical foliage and surrounded by Crystal clear water of tropical emerald-turquoise lagoon. Lagoon is ringed by a string of motus, which are surrounded by coral reefs. After the 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor, the United States chose the island of Bora Bora to serve as a military supply base in the South Pacific. More than 7,000 soldiers were stationed in Bora Bora. The army base was closed in 1946. However, many Americans refused to leave the island. Some Americans were even forcibly asked to leave, following complaints from their families on the mainland. https://wikitravel.org/en/Bora_Bora Bora Bora is an internationally acclaimed honeymoon destination and has become synonymous with Thatched roofed overwater bungalows. The climate is balmy year-round; however June to September is the driest and ideal visiting time. More information Also don't miss!!!
